The idea came to me while skiing in the mountains. I wanted something effortlessly stylish, something I could wear under my jacket on the slopes and still feel put together for après-ski.

I envisioned something with timeless elegance but reimagined for the modern, eco-conscious explorer. I wanted to create a piece that could be worn all year a refined staple that feels as good as it looks. A layer you could throw over jeans on a cool summer night or wear under a coat in winter.

With intention, I designed a silhouette that embraced those original design cues: ergonomic paneling, raw edges at the neckline and sleeves, and a subtle hi-low hem for a modern edge. I opted for earth-tone colorways, drawn from the landscapes that inspire COPALA from canyon clay to forest ash.

Then came the fabric: I sourced a lightweight, ultra-soft cotton from a mill in North Carolina known for its zero-waste practices and regenerative farming techniques. It’s more than sustainable, it’s a material that carries integrity in every thread.
